In recent weeks, life has brought a drastic and unexpected turn. As I sit in the in-between of what I thought life would look like in this season, and what it actually does—I’ve recognized the need to take a break from showing up in this space. Reader, I ask for your grace as I practice self-compassion and offer myself the grace of taking a step back from public writing, at least for a time.
What’s next?
When I return to writing publically, it will likely be on Instagram. So whether you’re a paid subscriber, already following along at curiouscompassion_subscription or simply following my Brandy Wallner account there, you’ll likely hear from me there first. The thoughts I’ll be sharing will likely be short and sweet and not anything robust enough to support the monthly essays you’ve found here.
Thank you
Thank you for being the kind of reader and human who values these kinds of decisions that are, at times, unavoidable. Thank you for valuing my dignity as a fellow traveler made in the image of God, not in the image of a machine.
If you’re the type of human who prays, I implore you to do so in this season. Please go before God on my behalf as often as I come to mind.
Thank you friends. And I hope to be back with you sooner rather than later. I leave you with the scripture below until we meet again.
Grace and peace,
Brandy
Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”
He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.
The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”
Matthew 8:23-27

Sharing a writer’s work is a wonderful way to support them and help build their readership.
Lifting you up, friend. Proud of you for practicing self-compassion and doing what you need to in this season.
